($32; 80% cabernet
sauvignon) Ruby-red. Plum , spices and Cuban cigar tobacco on the nose.
Lively, sweet, creamy and easygoing. A red berry fruit bomb, with ripe,
well-integrated acidity and lovely lift on the back end. Finishes with
sweet but solid tannins that would appear to offer this wine enough
structure to develop in bottle for at least eight to ten years. |

($27; 44% merlot, 31%
cabernet franc and 25% cabernet sauvignon) Bright ruby-red. Raspberry,
lavender, coffee and spices on the perfumed, exotic nose. Lush, creamy
and sweet, with nicely delineated flavors of red berries and flowers,
along with chocolate and vanilla oak notes. A vibrant, nicely restrained
wine with a long, ripely tannic finish. Terrific value. |
